On Nov. 8, 2015, seven members from the Hickory House Heroes team, including associates from Hickory House Nursing Home in Honey Brook, Pennsylvania, graced Citizens Bank Blvd. in the fight to end Alzheimer’s disease.
“In 2014, the Philadelphia Walk was the No. 1 walk for number of participants and the No. 2 walk for donations generated,” said Danielle Kronmuller, registered dietician and Hickory House Heroes team captain. “It was easy to see that Philadelphia will once again be a contender for the No. 1 walk with over 16,000 walkers, even more than last year.”
By the end of the walk, Philadelphia teams had raised more than $1 million for the cause.
This was Hickory House Nursing Home’s third year participating, and as of mid-November, the center had raised more than $3,500 through numerous fundraising efforts. Fundraising will continue through December.
“Words such as pride, compassion and healing come to mind when our team attempts to describe the emotions that overtake you on Walk day,” said Kronmuller. “It is a life-changing event we encourage all to experience for themselves. We are proud to be team Hickory House Heroes.”
